I spent six years inside a big company, and it taught me one thing clearly. Large companies win partly because they run on good systems. The right tools, the right setup, work that flows instead of getting stuck. As a system engineer at Tech Mahindra, I saw this up close every day.
The same effort, weaker tools.
Then I’d look at the local businesses around me. The shops, the clinics, the small firms doing real work every day. Same effort. Same ambition. Sometimes more heart than any big company. But weaker tools.
They were doing everything right and still losing ground. Not because they weren’t good at what they do, but because the technology that makes big companies efficient never reached them. That stayed with me. Once I saw the gap, I couldn’t stop seeing it.
